Hello, and welcome to Around the Toadstool.
My name is Caitlin. I am a Spark/Brownie/Guide leader in Southern
Ontario. This blog is a collaboration of
Brownie unit adventures along with craft and program ideas.
I have been in Guiding for 12 years. I started as a Girl Guide and fell in love
the first meeting I went to with one of my best friends. I continued to Pathfinders. During the three
years, I became more confident and right out of my shyness. Then, I completed
the Ranger program. Rangers is when I learned that I absolutely love camping
and that I enjoy working with the younger girls.
In 2012, I became a Spark, Brownie, and Guide leader. I was a Jr. Leader in all three branches
during Rangers and wanted to stay with each group. During meetings, I teach the
girls lots of songs and games. I like to also do crafts and go camping with the
girls. I enjoy seeing the girls smiling
faces at each meeting and listening to every one of their stories that they
have to share.
In the past, I have written on two other blogs. In 2010, I wrote each week about the preparation and experiences at Guiding Mosaic 2010. It was called: Guiding Mosaic Here we Come. In 2012, I created a blog to talk about my travelling adventures. I talked about my experiences in Ireland with Pathfinders and Rangers in the area. It was called: Travelling Adventures with Caitie. I still post on this one periodically. I have set up this blog to write about our adventures that
we have in Brownies along with posting program ideas and our crafts that we
do. I hope that this blog will be fun
for the girls and parents to look back to what they did in Brownies, as well as
ideas to use for their badge work. Guiders, feel free to take the program ideas
posted on here to your meetings and share them with your girls.
Yours in Guiding,
Caitlin
